Come and See Us…
Chancel Choir Wants You!
WHO: All interested singers from middle school through adulthood. We celebrate this unique opportunity to participate in a meaningful intergenerational experience in which friendships through the ages can be developed and fostered. If you have ever wondered if Chancel Choir is right for you, we would like to encourage you to Come and See Us. We would love to include you!
WHAT: Chancel Choir provides music primarily for the late service, yet is an integral part of the early service many times throughout the year. Beyond providing music for typical services, the choir will be singing for assisted living communities at different points throughout the year. By doing so, we hope to provide music for those in our community that are likely most in need of its healing comfort. When these events occur they will take place during our regular practice times on Wednesdays. Chancel Choir also looks forward to producing the annual Advent Cantata with Orchestra and providing opportunities for all interested members to participate in smaller ensemble settings. With so many new projects unfolding we hope that you will get involved and Come and See Us this year.
WHY: Because you enjoy singing! Chancel Choir invites all interested singers regardless of skill level or experience. While the music is important, our primary focus centers on faith and fellowship. Chancel Choir is a great way to praise God through the giving of your time and talents. Our current choir members will be happy to provide support and “take you under their wings”. With all that said, we hope that you will prayerfully consider joining us! Come and See Us to get started!
WHERE: Chancel Choir meets in the sanctuary choir loft for Wednesday practices and in the downstairs choir room for Sunday practices.
WHEN: Chancel Choir practices each Wednesday from 7pm-8pm in the sanctuary choir loft and 30 minutes prior to their designated service.
WHAT IF I WORSHIP AT THE EARLY SERVICE? CAN I STILL BE INVOLVED IN CHOIR? There are currently several singers in Chancel Choir who attend the early service but still enjoy singing with the choir. Accommodations are made for their schedules by having the choir sing in the first few minutes of the late service, after which time these singers excuse themselves without the congregation noticing. Also, remember that Chancel Choir sings at the early service several times throughout the year!
Please consider how Chancel Choir might work for you! We would love to have you "try" us out! Our first practice will be next Wednesday, August 3rd. We are encouraging all who have interest to Come and See Us and make this the year to get involved!
